A young raccoon exploring a log

Juniper · Wildfire survivor

Juniper arrived dehydrated and disoriented after a late-summer wildfire. Our hydration protocols and soft-release enclosures helped her relearn to forage. Within a month, she was climbing trees and teaching younger rescues to explore safely.

  • Emergency care

Immediate rehydration, burn treatment, and nutritional support stabilized Juniper within 24 hours.

  • Peer mentorship

Juniper bonded with two other rescues, practicing nocturnal scavenging under the guidance of staff.

  • Soft release

A monitored reintroduction near her original habitat ensured she acclimated gradually with supplemental feeding stations.

The River Trio · Orphaned siblings

Three kits were found alone along the Mossy Creek riverbank after a flood. We paired bottle-feeding with enrichment puzzles to build problem-solving skills. Today, they form a bustling raccoon family near the protected wetlands.

  • Expert formula care

Round-the-clock feeding schedule and nest simulation ensured healthy growth and socialization.

  • Enrichment planning

Volunteers created water play stations and dexterity challenges to prepare them for foraging.

  • Family release

We selected a release site with abundant den trees and ongoing monitoring by our habitat team.
